  1. You can try influencer marketing to help you rank high, it can be especially effective when you use great platforms for it like phlanx

  2. Hi, We've a #1 ranking business website with a 7 year old url with the format city-keyword-keyword.tld, we've a new service & cover many more cities which means this url is not great anymore.

We're thinking of switching to our actual business name which is 29 characters long & not keywordy. What would you do? Almost everyone in our industry has keywordy urls (we know we need to change backlinks etc and it will be a lot of work)

When measured via return conversion to sales, it is very rewarding.

  6. Please find few tips below that might help you boost your Google rank.
Five Ways to Improve your Site's Ranking (SEO)
Follow these suggestions, and watch your website rise the ranks to the top of search-engine results.
    1. Publish Relevant Content
Quality content is the number one driver of your search engine rankings and there is no substitute for great content. Quality content created specifically for your intended user increases site traffic, which improves your site’s authority and relevance.
Identify a keyword phrase for each page. Think about how your reader might search for that specific page (with phrases like “mechanical engineering in Michigan,” “best applied physics program,” or “Michigan Tech degrees”). Then, repeat this phrase several times throughout the page—once or twice in the opening and closing paragraphs, and two to four more times throughout the remaining content.
Don’t forget to use bold, italics, heading tags, and other emphasis tags to highlight keyword phrases, but don’t overdo it.
Never sacrifice good writing for SEO. The best pages are written for the user, not for the search engine.
    2. Update Your Content Regularly
You’ve probably noticed that we feel pretty strongly about content. Search engines do, too. Regularly updated content is viewed as one of the best indicators of a site’s relevancy, so be sure to keep it fresh.
    3. Metadata
When designing your website, each page contains a space between the <head> tags to insert metadata, or information about the contents of your page. If you have a CMS site, the UMC web team will have pre-populated this data for you:
    Title Metadata
Title metadata is responsible for the page titles displayed at the top of a browser window. It is the most important metadata on your page. For those with a CMS website, the web team has developed an automated system for creating the meta title for each webpage.
    Description Metadata
Description metadata is the textual description that a browser will use in your page search return. Think of it as your site’s window display—a concise and appealing description of what is contained within, with the goal of encouraging people to enter.
    Keyword Metadata
Keyword metadata are the search phrases that people type when they want to find your page. You’ll want to include a variety of phrases. However, don’t get greedy: if your list becomes excessive, the browser may completely ignore the data. As a general rule, try to keep it to about 6-8 phrases with each phrase consisting of 1-4 words. A great example would be "computer science degree."
    4. Have a link-worthy site
Focus on creating relevant links within the text. Instead of having “click here” links, try writing out the name of the destination. “Click here” has no search engine value beyond the attached URL, whereas “Michigan Tech Enterprise Program” is rich with keywords and will improve your search engine rankings as well as the ranking of the page you are linking to.
    5. Use alt tags
Always describe your visual and video media using alt tags, or alternative text descriptions. They allow search engines to locate your page, which is crucial—especially for those who use text-only browsers.

  7. When it comes to SEO, there's no point in looking for new innovative ways that will magically help you jump to page 1 of Google. By the end of the day SEO optimization fundamentals haven't changed in the last 10+ years: work on getting quality backlinks, post original, valuable and user friendly content, by active in your niche, share your content, optimize your site well, and if you do it on a consistent basis, you will be rewarded by top ranks. 8. Great information Jordan. Even though this SEO video was published in 2016 and it's 2018 now, the SEO you teach here is still rellivant.

  9. A really amazing, easy to understand video. I really picked up some good tips here. My question is re external linking. I have 3 ecommerce websites all related to gifts. I am thinking of adding a link to each of the other two websites on each of my product pages on all of the websites. So all 3 sites link to each other. Do you think this is a good idea or too much for every product page? Was just going to use some set text on each of the product pages with the links. Would this be good for SEO? Would appreciate your guidance. Thank you

  10. Honestly i loved your explanation, very clear and easy to understand… I thank you so much for not making it complicated.

  11. Too bad ranking high have nothing to do with content quality or trustfulness. So it does as much harm as it does good. Sometimes SEO makes more harm for end users. Only the "optimisators" win.

  12. Hi, so you have to enter your email information to use Coschedule? You didn't enter your email when you used it. I thought it was free?

  13. I get mixed answers from people. A guy who advised me on setting this all up, told get my site up and running asap as Nov/Dec you could earn a lot but according to your video can take up to 6 months to see an increase in traffic.
I'm using this to do affiliate marketing basically, i have severe depression, anxiety and other illnesses which make it almost impossible to work in places round here so making a career online is my only chance to move out my parents. I have several ideas for websites with AM and told to chose the best one first, once i start earning from it, then do more websites.
This whole backlinks thing though seems tough, when you say social media, does that mean making a new facebook, twitter or can i use my current ones, i can understand with instagram making a new one is best. Desperate to start earning, not so i can get money but at least i can prove to my Dad it works as he doesn't believe it can and has never cared about my mental health so will push towards warehouse work.

  14. When i download yoast seo only dashboard search console and premium show up on the drop down link

  15. I purchased a website but I don't know where I can download a free website content to my site. I totally newbie. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you
